GALLERY OPENS FOR SUMMER SEASON 2015
Patricia Ladd Carega Gallery opens on Memorial Day weekend. A busy season of new exhibits, workshops and conversations is in store for the upcoming months. We look forward to welcoming new faces and old at the gallery. This summer we are delighted and lucky to have Lisa Heard joining our team. Lisa is no stranger to the art world nor to Sandwich. She is a fine art appraiser by trade and has been a frequent visitor to the gallery over the years. Forrest Elliot has moved on to a new career in Providence. We will miss Forrest but know that he is doing wonderfully in his new home. Looking forward to an active and creative summer! Patricia, Elaine, CC, Lisa and of course, Paco.

P.B. Parsons (Philip Brown Parsons) A TRIBUTE TO A NEW ENGLAND ARTIST: 1896 -1977
OPENING RECEPTION: June 13 from 5 to 7 p.m. Watercolor, oil, pastel, pencil, and ink are all media used by P.B. Parsons to capture the nature and animals that he loved. An illustrator whose work appeared on many a magazine cover, Parson was a gifted artist whose work still continues to charm its audience. His son, Philip Parsons, Jr. will share memories of his father at 6 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

3 EXHIBITS IN ONE BARN; GARLAND, GOULD AND KLEMENTOVICH
OPENING RECEPTION FOR THREE ARTISTS: July 11 from 5 p.m. through 7p.m. ANNE GARLAND, a print maker and painter from Jackson, NH, opens an exhibit of New Work. Working in mixed media Garland gives new meaning to a beloved subject, Trees. The majestic pines dance and sway, shimmer and murmur under Garland's capable hand. REBECCA KLEMENTOVICH, is a painter from Bartlett, NH. Her series, Femmes Fatales, concentrates on the feminine touch in abstract art. Intense color is complimented by gentle marks and lines. The work bedazzles and beckons the viewer to have another closer look. RONNIE GOULD'S ceramic animals have been admired and loved by visitors to the gallery for many summers. A master of Raku, Gould's dogs, horses, cows and sheep (only to mention a few of the herd) have their own souls and personalities. Bears and moose have also paid a visit to the barn. Ronnie Gould lives and works in Massachusetts.

BRIAN HERRICK: SURPRISES IN LANDSCAPE - The Everyday Practice of Drawing
OPENING RECEPTION: Wednesday, July 15th from 5 to 7 p.m. Though a resident of California, Brian Herrick spends his summers on the shores of Squam. A writer and an artist, Herrick is drawn to the art of graphic storytelling. His new watercolors are fresh. Though they border on the abstract, there is no mistaking a storm brewing or a sun setting over the lake. Herrick will speak about his work at 6 p.m.

CLARE MOWBRAY, UNDER WHITE OAK POND, Underwater photographs reveal an amazing new world.
OPENING RECEPTION: Wednesday, July 29th from 5 to 7 p.m. Many remember the smiling, talented photographer and craftswoman who lived in Holderness until 2 years ago when she was taken by cancer. Mowbray loved the water and happily left many beautiful photographs of her dives under White Oak Pond. The photographs take us to a new world of stillness where flora and fauna create colorful compositions that transport us to a peaceful and beautiful place. Clare's husband, Larry, will be on hand to talk about Clare's work.

CLOTHES CALL: An Evening with ASHLEY BULLARD’S NEW WORK and ART NEUFELD’S NEW BOOK
RECEPTION: Saturday, August 1 from 5 to 7 p.m. Join us for an evening of art and literature revolving around clothes: their symbolism and their story. In ASHLEY BULLARD'S new series of work the clothes line is front and center. A universal metaphor that ties people around the world together, Bullard's clothes lines stand against intense color that suggest landscape, city or backyard. ART NEUFELD presents his new book, "The History of Clothing". A refreshing and humorous writer, Neufeld has done extensive research on what we never thought we would know about clothes. Neufeld will speak about his book at 6 p.m.. Copies of the book will be available for the author's signature.

TWO EXHIBITS,ONE NIGHT: LAURA MARCONI: My Iceland and MARGARET MERRITT: Abstract Impressions
OPENING RECEPTION: Saturday, August 15th from 5 to 7p.m. LAURA MARCONI has spent the past two summers at artist residencies in Iceland. Her new work, "My Iceland" speaks to the savage beauty of the place that mesmerized and enthralled her. Inspired by mountains still covered with spots snow, Marconi creates strong black and white graphic patterns on canvas. Dramatic and bold the work is breathtaking. MARGARET MERRITT exhibits her abstract prints perhaps for the first time all seen together in one place in "Abstract Impressions". Intricate designs inspired by a broken window, or perhaps natural fibers are the subject for this work which Merritt has regrouped and reorganized. What happens in her prints is remarkable. An extraordinary print maker from Sandwich, NH Merritt's work is fascinating.

VALERIE VERMEULEN: New Work on Paper
OPENING RECEPTION: Saturday, September 12th from 5 to 7. Valerie Vermeulen, a young artist from Holderness, opens her first solo exhibit in the area with exciting new work in mixed media. Abstract form and marks dance across her paper combining interesting compositions with unusual color. The gallery is happy to present a fresh new talent from our area.
